MMM Yesterday & Today

Yesterday & Today:

Muscle:

  • 1.25 mi/12 min run in the RAIN in the MORNING
  • Physical therapy - seriously, one of the best things I’ve done for myself in a long time
  • Anticipating a run/walk tonight with mom, siblings and/or puppy

Merriment:

  • TODAY is my Friday!
  • Letting the boy cook all of dinner last night (garlicky spinach burgers & red pepper sticks & corn on the cob)
  • Writing a press release (it sounds totally nerdy, but it reminded me what I love about being a journalist/writer)

TODAY’S GOAL:
Single standing calf raises - do as many sets as you can!

Muscle: Did these in PT today! And she had me do mini-squats while point my foot front, out, and back. We also jumped from leg to leg.
Merriment: doing a little errand/shopping post-work (and pre-more work tonight) - new contacts, new sneakers! can’t wait!!

Muscle: Balancing on one foot on a balance pad while playing catch with my PT. She loves to challenge me! And this is something I could not have done 2 months ago.
Merriment: Getting picked up early from work by the boy. And then playing Sorry (and getting my butt kicked twice) in bed.

MMM

Merriment: glass of wine and good conversation with a new and a very old friend

Muscle: 1.25 mile run in 12 min., walking to & from the bar (1 mi each way? ish?*)

*Just checked on gmap-pedometer.com and my walk was 3.5 miles (I took the bus for .75 of 4.25 total). 3.5 miles! I totally earned that glass of red wine.

MAY 1: NEW MONTH. NEW START. NEW OUTLOOK.
I feel like I, and several others out there in tumblr land, have been going through a rough patch, plateaus, crankiness, a slow down - well everyone, now is the chance to CHANGE THAT ALL.
Let’s all make an effort to change that starting today. 
MERRIMENT AND MUSCLE IN MAY
Let’s all vow to do one thing that makes us merry and one thing that makes muscle every single day in May - be it a few squats, dancing around to an eighties pop song, sending an e-mail to an old friend, doing a push-up - anything.
I am going to do this every single day starting today. I am going to post every single day and I am going to tag every single post #MMM to keep track of the month.
This is the new challenge I am giving myself and I extend the offer to you all. It is so easy, so why don’t we all try to keep May positive by keeping ourselves fit and happy!!!!
