Mini Getaway Starts Today!
Heading out midday with Nick for 2.5 days of skiing & relaxing. Turning off as many electronic devices as possible. Spending time in the outdoor hot tub. Swooshing down the slopes. Drinking beer & eating chicken fingers at the pub on the top of the mountain. So excited can’t even describe!

I am itching for a lunch time run. Slightly concerned about the results it will have on my hair & make-up since I’m going straight out to dinner post-work, but pretty sure the results on my mood & stress level will more than balance that out.

Yesterday’s 5 mile run was my longest since the marathon. That’s 14 weeks. It was great to finally get a run in long enough that I hit a groove; I hit that place where your body is moving along and your mind frees up. It was a good feeling.

No running until chest cold is completely gone. Then, back to speed work & prepping the base for half training.

Feeling discouraged by this nagging, unending cold thing. Headaches, sniffles, lungs that burn when I run, feeling tired all the time. It just keeps coming back. Get mostly better, get sick. Get mostly better, get sick. I’m over it. So way beyond over it. I will take 4 feet of snow and healthy lungs over this bullshit.

Slept in until 9 and still in my pjs.

First Speed Work Results!
I ended up downloading and using an app called Ultrachron Lite. It was free, but more importantly, it lets you use the hardware buttons (volume up & down) on your phone to mark the laps. No fussing with the touch screen while “sprinting.” It also lets you email yourself the timing stats when you’re done.
